Here is another great vehicle for Jason Statham to show off his fighting moves. The story is not new and follows the repeated Hollywood themes of good undercover cop tries to move off to a remote swampland to start a new life with his daughter Maddy, played by Izabela Vidovic, after his wife was killed by thugs.
Written by Sylvester Stallone, based on a Chuck Logan novel, the theme and scenes are too cliché to be remarkable but it is always fun to watch Statham go through his thing. The typical beatings that no one could survive prove no match to Statham as he rises to each occasion beating unbelievable odds to win the day. One has to wonder if Stallone wrote anything, as there is little imagination in the plot or the dialogue.
With all that said it is an interesting film, which will have you cheering as the father, takes on gangs or thugs seeking revenge for his part in being the snitch that put a mad murderer behind bars.
