EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- It's a typical day on the set of "Brotherhood," the Peabody Award-winning Showtime drama about politics and crime, which wrapped filming of its second season in Providence yesterday
The series' two leads -- who play Irish-American brothers, one a politician and one a gangster -- hail from Australia and England. But much of the supporting cast, a gritty assortment of mobsters, cops, lawyers, girlfriends, and wives, lives in the Boston area. And the show has become, to the Boston acting set, what the "Law and Order" franchise is to actors in New York: a reliable resume-stuffer, a healthy paycheck, and a possible sign of greater things to come
