"From Freedom to Fascism" A Must See Movie

It stopped raining. Sunday, March 12, 2006 was a pleasant, spring like day in Portland, Oregon where a crowd of almost 300 gathered quietly outside the Clinton Street Theater, on the east side of town. In hushed tones, clustered in groups of three or four, the rain-weary, Washington and Oregon residents, some who had travelled hundreds of miles for this event, spoke about the IRS, the state of our nation and the film they were about to see.

At 1:00 P.M. the theater doors swung open and the crowd moved quickly inside. Those who had come early rushed to find seats while late comers had to stand in the back in order to see this much anticipated new film. Once everyone was settled; the program began with an introduction by "We the People" founder, Robert Schultz. He spoke for ten minutes about the petition for redress of grievances that has been submitted to all three branches of our Federal government by more than 2000 members of his "We the People Foundation".

Although, Mr. Russo was not present at this screening, I did have the honor of meeting and speaking briefly with Mr. Schultz prior to the start of the event. He is a true patriot who has relentlessly pursued a peaceful means of winning our Republic back from the usurpers. His petition has been met with silence thus far but is well positioned for a Supreme Court hearing.

After a short film, put together by the "We the People Foundation", the lights went down for the feature event, "From Freedom to Fascism", by Aaron Russo.

Tax law, government corruption and fraud, are not easy subjects about which to make a feature length film but Mr. Russo used his many years of movie making experience, to craft a serious and profoundly important film. This is a film that every American must see!

The story follows Mr. Russo's personal awakening to the truth about how our servant government has committed the most incredible fraud in the history of man on the sovereign people of these fifty States. His journey is a sobering realization of how far we, as a nation, have strayed from the true course of liberty and the principles upon which our Republic was founded. Carefully placed humor, throughout the film, helps to make the message, that we are victims of our treasonous government, slightly more palatable. To strengthen his argument Mr. Russo uses clips from several former IRS officials, who have resigned after discovering that our tax code does not make the average American liable for taxes on labor.

As in each of the previous showings of this critically important film, the audience was moved to a standing ovation during the closing credits. After viewing "From Freedom to Fascism", one can only hope that every American will have the opportunity to see it, and that we will all work together to restore the natural rights, which are guaranteed in our Constitution.
